Robin Pope and Bella

FAREWELL TO ROBIN

SAYING GOOD BYE TO YOU MY FRIEND IS ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO DO
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD, ESPECIALLY YOU

YOU ALWAYS LISTENED AND KNEW WHAT TO SAY
AND IF YOU DIDN’T YOU WOULD MAKE ME LAUGH ANYWAY
YOU’RE SMILE, YOUR SOUL, YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE
WILL LIVE IN MY HEART AND NEVER BE REPLACED

AS I TRY TO MOVE FORWARD A LIFE WITH NO ROBIN
TEARS FILL MY EYES AND I START TO SOB
BUT BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH YOUR NOT HERE WITH ME
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART
BECAUSE NOTHING WILL EVER TEAR OUR FRIENDSHIP APART

I KNOW YOU WILL LOOK DOWN ON ME
AND ALL YOU’RE CLOSEST FRIENDS
FROM THE WONDERFUL SAFE AND LOVING PLACE WE CALL HEAVEN
MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS LOOK FOR US, AS YOU KNOW
WE WILL BE THERE TO DANCE THE FINAL DANCE
WE NEVER GOT TO SHARE

I WILL NEVER STOP SEARCHING THE TRUTH OF YOUR DEATH
I WON’T GIVE UP UNTIL I DO, TILL I TAKE MY LAST BREATH
I LOVE YOU ROBIN LEA!

About Robin Pope

A Remarkable Woman

Robin Pope of Queen Anne’s County, Maryland was an amazing woman, dedicated mother, adored friend, and breast cancer survivor who truly inspired everyone she met. She managed her home, her children, her fence company, and a full time dental assistant job, while maintaining an intense passion for health and fitness. She had a true love of animals, and the bond shared with her Great Dane "Bella" was immense. Robin had an awesome, often ‘unfiltered’ humor that would brighten up any conversation. She was the light of the room, always the center of attention. When facing adversity, she used humor, strength and her eternal optimism to overcome any obstacle. Before having a double mastectomy she posted a farewell note to her TATAS.

The Letter

“Dearest TATAS,

I regret to inform you in light of your recent action of bodily harm against my personal well-being, I find it necessary to end our intimate relationship. Although we have been together for 48 years (they were great years and I thank you for helping to nurture my children, standing high and proud with me through all the years and rumors that you did not exist and not moving south on me), I find that because of our destructive relationship that I have no other option but to have you removed from the premises on 10/11/10. You will be greatly missed and mourned, BUT EVEN YOU CAN BE REPLACED!”

True Character

Despite a more aggressive cancer diagnosis and treatment regimen, Robin Pope was able to beat the odds and overcome her cancer, but tragically, she met with an untimely death. Her time here on earth and during her cancer battle was a true testament to her character and she would be grateful to know we are carrying on her legacy to inspire those in times of illness to live with strength, optimism, and humor. Robin would be honored that we are raising money for the Hope & Healing Center @ Compass Regional Hospice in her Memory.
